The pans has a high rise and it is excellent for people like me over 50 with some extra fat in the middle. I feel skinnier and they look great on my body type.These are great pants. I went skiing in them and fell down multiple times and stayed warm and dry.I wear size 28 in jeans, hips 40. These pants fit beautifully. I went with a small for a slimer fit, but it does make the pockets useless even though the pants have good stretch. If you want accessible pockets or a loser fit, size up.
