I just got these boots today and I love them! I had originally ordered the matte black in a size 10, but they were damaged via transit. ShoeBrandsUSA was very kind and e-mailed me within a few hours offering a replacement. (way before Amazon was even aware of the issue. When I called customer service the talked over me and instead of offering me any options, simply prepared a refund. I e-mailed back and fourth with ShoeBrands and they offered me the black gloss size 10 and shipped 2 days later)So now, Onto the review! Firstly, I did a TON of research before buying these boots. My feet are a size 10W (wide) My calf measures at 16 1/2 inches and I have Plantar Fasciitis in both feet. After reading a lot of reviews, I was incredibly nervous to buy the 'Original Hunter Boots' because I was afraid my calf would be too tight in them, and I was right. I tried them on at a boutique store and I could not get them off. The shaft formed a seal around my leg and I was so embarrassed :( So I went back to the drawing board because I was not going to give up my fight for these boots. Amazon does offer the 'Huntress Adjustable' (which is a shorter boot) but I didn't like the look of those. These boots straight out of the box are beautiful! Like a dream come true! But, I will say I am not a big fan of the gloss and I wish I would have waited until the matte was back in stock. I feel like a dominatrix wearing shiny leather in them LOL. Needless to say, I will most definitely be keeping them. These boots are perfect for my gardening self being outside in the mud, mulching, when it's wet out early in the AM or I might even use them for fishing. They are surprisingly extremely comfortable to walk in for an extended period of time, but it's a little hard to get them off my big feet and takes a little finessing. My advice to any one wanting to invest in these adorbs boots, is to do your research first. I spent many nights watching reviews, reading blogs and measuring every inch of my calf below the knee in fear they might not fit. If, like me, you have calves larger than 15in I would definitely look into the adjustable boot.Christmas present ?I like a lot of other reviewers read a lot of reviews and debated on getting these for a while. A half-size down was perfect I am always a 8 1/2 I ordered the eight and they fit nicely. I did order the adjustable because I was concerned about being able to wear jeans with them I think I made a good call by doing that. Only thing is that I Am 5'3.5 and when I sit down they do hit the back of my leg in a weird place so if you're on the shorter end be ready for them to fit just a little too tall, but it's not uncomfortable enough not to wear. I haven't worn them on the daily yet because I'm waiting for the rain however you could tell that the boots are very good quality. Nice box, quick shippingI am SO HAPPY to have found these boots. I have wanted Hunters forever, but of course the traditional boot shaft was too small for my calves. I need to buy wide calf boots in general (not too large of a person, but my calves just don't fit into most boots -- I think they are about 16.5 inches). I took the plunge but was also nervous that these might not fit. However, they arrived today and they fit perfectly! I am thrilled. I usually wear a size 9.5 but opted for a 10, and while they are a little roomy, a 9 would've been too small. I will just wear good socks with them and should be fine. They are very comfortable, but the box had a crazy chemical smell that wafted out when I opened the package. I will likely have to leave these outside overnight to air them out. Great purchase!God I wish these fit me. The fact that I am short (5'2) does not help with the review of these boots. They hit too far on the knee and made it uncomfortable for me to wear. I did find them a good home however and they worked out well for her.The size runs small. Very uncomfortable because they are not wide enough at the foot. They are hard to get on and off. Disappointed in them.Purchased these for my wife in size 8 (she wears a size 8.5 US) and they fit perfectly with room for a thick pair of socks. She loves them, they are a classic style and the adjustable calf strap helps for those with larger or smaller lower legs than the fox and hound type models that we always see modeling them. Would recommend to our friends and family.I ordered a pair of Hunter rain boots at Christmas, I loved them so much I ordered this pair. I ordered the exact same size but they do not fit like the other pair, I can wear the other pair all day and walk miles in them. Not sure what the difference in them would be?? Anyone else ever have this problem?
